When we're extra lucky, the arrival of June means two things: the summer is finally here, and so are the summer trainees! We're happy to welcome three talented individuals: Eevi, Emma, and Michiel, bringing their energy, curiosity, and skills to various corners of our company.
Bridging studies and worklife
For students, what the summer internships are all about is diving into projects that directly - or let’s face it, sometimes indirectly - connect with their academic pursuits while offering hands-on experience.
Emma Suomio joins our Marketing team with a diverse educational background, combining a BBA in International Business with a current pursuit of a BA in Motion Graphics. This summer, she's eager to integrate the Maventa brand with more dynamic motion and animation, all while gaining a deeper understanding of SaaS marketing in practice.
"I was looking for internships and saw a post about Visma Summer Trainee program. After looking through the open positions there, I decided to apply for the marketing trainee position at Maventa, because it was a brand I recognised and the company seemed modern and interesting. Getting to combine both my previous studies in marketing with my current passions and strengths that come with the new creative degree is really exciting," Emma shares.
Similarly to Emma, Michiel Van Eynde is looking to get more hands-on experience to support his ICT Engineering studies. Joining our Product team, Michiel will be working with projects related to sending API of e-invoices.
For Michiel, this internship is all about expanding his horizons: "Learning new languages, new ways of workflows and getting more advanced work experiences" are high on his list of goals.

We're delighted to welcome back Eevi Luukkonen, who is rejoining the Maventa Product team as a Software Developer Trainee for her second summer. Currently pursuing her Master's in Computer Science at the University of Helsinki, she'll primarily be working on API-related tasks, with opportunities to contribute to UI development as well.
She highlighted a key aspect of her time here: "The strong collaboration in every-day tasks surprised me. Maventa is a tight community in which everyone is equal and the atmosphere is light-hearted. I really love that!"
Visma Summer Trainee Program
At Maventa, we're proud to take part in Visma Finland's Summer Trainee Program. This summer, alongside other Visma companies, we're welcoming tens of talented students across software development, marketing, sales, UX, and customer service. Beyond their daily work, the trainees will also attend various trainings and networking events.
