Maventa expands e-invoicing and Peppol support to Latvia

_DSC9603

We’re proud to announce that Maventa now supports e-invoicing and Peppol for Latvian companies.

This expansion strengthens our European footprint and helps our software partners serve businesses in Latvia. Just in time for the country’s upcoming e-invoicing mandate.

The upcoming e-invoicing mandate in Latvia

Latvia has been moving steadily toward full e-invoicing adoption, starting with mandatory business-to-government (B2G) e-invoicing on 1 January 2025.

The next milestone - mandatory business-to-business (B2B) e-invoicing and e-reporting - is now set to take effect on 1 January 2028, following an updated implementation schedule. A voluntary phase is expected to begin in 2026, giving businesses time to prepare and test their systems.

For Latvian companies, this is the perfect time to modernise invoicing workflows and get ready for the upcoming B2B e-invoicing transition.

Registration requirements

When registering Latvian companies, integrators must use the LV:VAT business identifier (BID). This follows the EU-standardised format with the country code “LV” followed by the VAT number.

Example: LV40103863798

Our Latvian implementation follows the same rigorous validation and reliability standards that Maventa applies across all supported EU countries.

How to register a Latvian company

For instant activation, Latvian company registration is available exclusively via our SOAP or REST API.

If you wish to register through the Maventa user interface, please contact Maventa Support for guided assistance.

  • For partners managing KYC independently: Great news: registration is straightforward and doesn’t require any extra steps.

  • For partners using Maventa’s KYC process: Latvian company registration isn’t available just yet, since Visma Sign doesn’t currently support this jurisdiction.

Available services for Latvian companies

Once registered, Latvian businesses get access to all of Maventa’s key services, including:

  •  Internal network traffic – Send and receive invoices within the Maventa network
