Re-installing two-factor authentication
This article explains how to re-enable two-factor authentication for Maventa login, for example if your authenticator is not functioning or you have changed devices.

- Re-enabling the Authenticator When the Previous Device Is Unavailable
Re-enabling the Authenticator When the Previous Device Is Available
If you are setting up a new phone and still have access to your previous device, you can transfer your authenticator accounts by following these steps (please note these instructions are based on Google Authenticator):
- Install Google Authenticator or another authenticator application on your new device.
- Open the authenticator app on your previous device and tap the three dots in the upper right corner.
- Select “Transfer accounts,” then choose “Export accounts” to generate a QR code.
- On your new device, select “Import accounts” in the authenticator app and scan the QR code.
Please note that these instructions apply specifically to the Google Authenticator application.
Re-enabling the Authenticator When the Previous Device Is Unavailable
If the authenticator’s six-digit code is not working, or you have switched devices and no longer have access to your previous device, we recommend re-enabling two-factor authentication. You will need the emergency backup code saved during your initial login—please follow these steps:
- Remove the Maventa account from your authenticator app if it is still present.
- Go to the Maventa login page.
- Enter your username and click “Next.”
- Enter your password and click “Log in.”
- Instead of entering the six-digit code, select “Try another method.”
- Choose “Use a one-time backup code.”
- Enter the backup code you previously saved or received via email, then confirm.
- Select “I have permanently lost access to my Authenticator app.”
- The two-factor authentication setup will now start. Click “Use another Authenticator app.” If you are using Visma Authenticator, select “Next.”
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app or enter it manually. Once the code is added, click “Next.”
- Enter the new six-digit code provided by the app and click “Next.”
- The system will generate a new backup code. Save this code in a secure location—you can copy it using the adjacent button and check “I have copied and saved the code,” then click “Next.” If you experience future issues with the six-digit code, this backup code can be used for login.
- You will receive confirmation that two-factor authentication has been successfully enabled. After confirmation, click “Next.”
- You are now signed in.
If you no longer have access to your backup code, please contact our customer support team. We will provide you with a new backup code sent to the email address associated with your user account. Once you receive the new backup code, follow the instructions above to reactivate your authenticator’s six-digit code.
