Maventa is now supporting electronic invoicing in Peppol for Estonian companies

We have also added the possibility to register Estonian companies over API.

Estonia is implementing a phased approach to mandatory B2B e-invoicing in alignment with the EU’s digital VAT reform.

  • By 2027, e-invoicing will become mandatory for all B2B transactions between VAT-registered companies in Estonia. This full mandate will coincide with the removal of the current €1,000 threshold for transaction-based VAT reporting.

  • By July 2030, Estonia will be fully aligned with the EU’s "VAT in the Digital Age" (ViDA) initiative, which includes mandatory cross-border e-invoicing across member states and standardized real-time reporting obligations.

This transition is expected to improve tax compliance, reduce administrative burdens, and increase VAT revenues, while strengthening Estonia’s already advanced digital infrastructure.

Register Estonian accounts

  • Estonian accounts can be registered over API using the same endpoint as for other countries 

  • The identifier to use is Estonian VAT ID -

    • In Estonia, VAT numbers consist of the country code EE and a combination of nine digits—for example, EE123456789.

Account verification/Strong authentication

Important Note: The Visma Sign process is not available for Estonian companies.

In order to automatically register and verify Estonian accounts over API you need to have a verified KYC process.

How do I see if I can verify the company 

  • Register the company 
  • Call POST /v1/company/authorization endpoint, If this returns an error the account needs manual verification before it can be used.

E-invoicing over Peppol

  • Maventa customers can send to Estonian companies e-invoices over Peppol

  • Maventa customers can register and receive e-invoices over Peppol network

  • When registering customers get automatically Peppol address based on their VAT number - example 9930:EE123456789.
